Aethyr's conversation runs on Apple's Foundation Models — the intelligence built into your iPhone. It never leaves the device, never uses a server, and never sends your words away. This page explains exactly what it does, and what it deliberately does not.
What it is
Apple's on-device model — nothing bolted on.
Aethyr uses Apple's Foundation Models framework, the same on-device model family that powers Apple Intelligence. There is no third-party AI service, no OpenAI, no cloud. The model lives on your phone, and so does everything you say to it.

Only for the conversation features.

Calm, protected instruction cards instead of a rabbit hole — it does not browse the open web.
Where it is not used
Everything else is plain, on-device code.
Saving a note, setting a reminder, running a timer, storing medication or a memory — none of that touches the model. It's ordinary app code on your device. The intelligence is only ever the conversation, and only ever on demand.
The rules it follows
Honest, grounded, never harmful.
It doesn't invent
Aethyr only uses what you've actually told it. If it doesn't know, it says so — it will never make up a reminder, an item, a place or a fact.
It never leaves the device
Your words in, Aethyr's words out — both stay on your iPhone. No account, no upload, no training on your life.
It never judges or diagnoses
No scores, no streaks, no shame, and never medical advice. If medication comes up, it listens and acknowledges — nothing more.
On a device without Apple Intelligence, Aethyr quietly uses its own on-device support instead. The app still works fully, and it's still completely private.
